It’s rainy… the transition from Summer to Fall, and Fall to Winter is here. With these changes comes colder weather. One thing I always remember growing up is my mother having a pot of yummy chicken vegetable soup on the stove ready to warm us up from outside play.

With help from the grandmothers my wife and I have taken a little from each traditional recipe and created our own style chicken vegetable soup. This soup is severed with an entire chicken leg in your bowl and pasta if desired. Pick any pasta you wish boil it and add it in to the individual bowl separate from the pot of soup.

First lets have a look at what we will need:

  1. 5 chicken legs
  2. 2 cooking onions
  3. 5 medium carrots
  4. 8 stocks of celery
  5. 2 cloves of fresh garlic cloves
  6. 2 tbsp of Vegeta chicken soup seasoning
  7. Pasta of your choice


First bring a pot of water to boil and cook your chicken legs. While doing this prepare your celery, carrots, garlic and onions. Once the chicken legs are cooked I personally like to discard the water from the boiled raw chicken and add fresh water. I then bring this fresh water to a biol, add my chicken legs back and turn the temperature down to medium.

Now we cut up all our vegetables and add them all into our pot of soup. Don’t be shy at this point, if you want to add any other vegetable feel free, this is your soup and by adding more vegetables it only adds more taste. Add your Vegeta chicken soup seasoning to your desired taste, simply start with 2 tbsp and go from there after taste testing.
